YAR’ADUA AMNESTY PROGRAMME: IMPLICATIONS FOR NATIONAL SECURITY

This study is based on the Yar’Adua’s Amnesty programme in the Niger Delta region and its implication for national security. In this work, a number of secondary sources were reviewed, including internet materials, journals and newspapers, for the study. The work has been able to reveal some of the main obstacles hampering the Amnesty programme of Yar’Adua in the Niger Delta, with proper attention focused on Bayelsa State. Recommendations were also made accordingly for the Federal Government to follow in the implementation of the amnesty programme.
