INTRODUCTION

Developments in the digital age have resulted in institutions, especially universities, developing policies to guide them in the establishment of Institutional Repositories (IR) as well as other e- contents, which have become essential infrastructure for scholarship. All over the world, the digital revolution has affected the way scholars create, communicate, and preserve new knowledge, and the development of IR has emerged as a new strategy that allows universities to apply serious, strategic plans to accelerate changes taking place in scholarship and scholarly communication.
