Abstract

This research however was proved to not only discuss the agricultural patterns of the area but to also focus on the elution of ginger as well as the various patterns that have been employed its cultivation. Existing studies have tended either to ignore or treat this aspect mildly, while a great deal is known about the socio – political and religious history of this area, scholarly work on the production aspect especially on ginger as a crash crop if done is relatively scanty and uncoordinated. This singular aspect is a very important field in human endeavour. It is my honest belief that the peasant producers have contributed immensely towards the upliftments of the economy of the zone before and during the colonial era.

This research has also tried to visualize the hardships, the peasantry of this area faced in different times of the period studies. This clearly shows rural inequality among the producers and oral information gathered has been use greatly to reconstruct these findings.
