THE IMPACT OF MOTIVATION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF THE SOCIAL WELFARE STAFF IN DELTA STATE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background to the study
Social workers are those that provide assistance to individuals and families through programs such as health care, food stamps, unemployment benefits, housing assistance and assistance for child care . The categories of social welfareworkers in Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs include these; medical, social protection staff and the developer community. Counseling through their service cut, vocational education, special education, health, transport staff and community services that can transform man and society.Social welfare concern is mainly the proper use of resources of society for the protection of its dignity (Michael lbiezugbe 1996).
However, it was observed that the performance of social workers from the Ministry of Women's Affairs is generally poor and inefficient leading to a delay in the delivery of relief supplies, the high rate of absenteeism, late work, sleeping on duty , insubordination, fatigue at work, corruption, indiscipline staff e. T. C. It was also observed that social workers of the Ministry of Women's Affairs are not properly motivated to perform their duties effectively. It is in this context that the researcher has studied the impact of motivation on the performance of social workers in the state Department of Delta businesswomen.
1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Over the years the effort of the government at all levels to strengthen protection services has been focused on improving the poor state of infrastructure, equipment supply, employment to qualify staff etc. aim the focus is not on the motivation of the existing protection of staff in the Ministry of women's Affairs to improve their performance. Therefore, this research studied how the formation of the fringe benefit service and compensation, promotion, strengthening the wage scale and a special protection of pension plan would have an impact on social workers in the delta the Ministry of State for women's Affairs.
1.3 RESEARCH QUESTION
The following questions were asked and answered by the researcher.
1. Is there a significance relationship between the in-service training of personnel and their performance in the Delta State Ministry of Women?
2. Is there a significant relationship between social benefits and allowances of the cell efficiency of social protection in the Ministry of Women?
3. Is there a significant relationship between promotion and effectiveness in the Ministry of Women Delta?
4. Is there a significant relationship between increased pay scale and efficient social workers in Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs?
4. Is there a significant relationship between special welfare pension plan for personal well-being and performance in the Delta State Ministry of Women?
1.4 ASSUMPTIONS STUDY
The following assumptions were made and tested in this study:
HO1-There is no significant relationship between staff in -service training and performance of social protection of staff in the Ministry Delta State for Women.
HO2 -There is no significant relationship between promotion and effectiveness of social workers in the Delta State Ministry of Women.
CF3 -There is no significant relationship between benefits and compensation on the effectiveness of social protection of workers in the Delta State Ministry of Women.
HO4 - There is no significant relationship between increased pay scale and effectiveness of social protection of workers in Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs?
HO5 -There is no significant relationship between the special pension protection for the welfare of staff and their performance in the Delta State Ministry of Women.
