THE DETERMINETION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE WEIGHT AND AGE OF MALE AND FEMALE STUDENTS IN DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY, ABRAKA
ABSTRACT
The relationship between weight and age of male and female students in Delta State University, Abraka was determined. This study also determined if there is any statistical difference between the weight of male and female students. Eighty (80) volunteer and students comprising of 40 males and 40 females within age range of 16-27 years were arbitrary chosen. The weight of each student was measured with a standard weighing scale. And also the age of these students was recorded. The data collected were analyzed using plots of Weight against Age for both males and females. Analysis was cared out using statistic the mean, student’s t-test, spearman correlation. The result showed that there is no significant difference between the weight of male and female students within the age range. The result also showed that the relationship between weight and age is Wm = 4.3182Am + 32.727 for male students and Wf= 3.7273Af + 36.364 for female students The spearman’s correlation for male and female student was used to indicate if there is a relationship between weight and age for male female students. The result showed (0.76) that there is a Strong relationship between weight and age for male students and (0.3) there is a weak relationship between weight and age of female students, also the result showed that there is significant difference between the weight of male and female students.
