REPORT ON THE FABRICATION OF SIEVE SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

The construction of sieves system was carried out in the Engineering workshop, Institute of management and technology, Enugu. The aim of this project is to fabricate a sieve system, which is capable of separating solid particles of various sizes. The construction was carried out in order to analyze the sizes of particles. The component parts of the sets of sieve and their dimension are as follow:

Height of sieve –80mm

Number of sieve –4

Diameter of sieve –230mm

Shape of sieve –cirular

Height of sieve set –760mm

Mesh/hole sizes – top –6.0mm, 2nd 5.0mm, 3rd 3.0mm bottom 1.0mm downwards respectively.

In constructing of this sieve system, some factors were taken into consideration and they are:

-the capacity of the sieve

-the type of mixture that can be filtered in it

-the types of properties and decomposition of the mixture.

-the type of material to be used for constructing the sieve.

The cost which is the determinant, factor in fabrication of any equipment.

These factors, help greatly in the fulfillment of the objective of this project study.

At the end of the fabrication, a sieve equipment was construct with specified dimension.
