NTA NETWORK NEWS VIEWERSHIP AMONG RESIDENTS OF IBIONO IBOM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

This work sought to find out whether residents of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area actually watch NTA Network News. The population of the study is 386,643 according to National Population Commission (NPC) sample random sampling was used for the selection of samples, the total of 250 questionnaires were collected from the respondents to obtain the information needed. the influence of NTA Network News, the audience’s perception of NTA Network News and determine the quality of such network news. For the purpose of the research, the survey method was employed and questionnaires as research instrument while findings were presented on tables and calculated using simple percentages. Findings reveal the there is regular viewership amongst residents of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area and that network News influence the people. It was also revealed that the quality of network news was favorable. It was therefore concluded that the production quality be improved while the broadcast Journalist should be encouraged to improve on the quality of news contents through the provision of necessary facilities and incentives
