Herzberg (2003) carried out a research during the 2005 and 2006 on the sources of employee motivation. He discovered a dichotomy that still intrigue and baffles, managers. The things that make people satisfied and motivated on the job are different in kind from the things that make them dissatisfied. Hence, the main objectives of this study can be expressed in terms of the following: i. To know what to do in order to get an employee to do what is actually expected of him. ii. To stimulate the through and ideas of people on this most interesting topic of all subject iii. To enable managers to know how to deal with individuals or groups at different motivational levels that vary in different ways. iv. To give insight into how the behavior of a single individual can be influenced, let along an organization of hundreds or thousands. v. To determine what should be done to help people feel enthusiastic and committed especially in difficult times.
