INTEGRATED SYSTEM SECURITY THROUGH GRAPHICAL PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

  • Introduction

This chapter which is the first in this research work introduces the integrated system security through graphical password authentication which is the topic to this research: this chapter is outlined into the theoretical background, the statement of the problem, aims and objective of the study, significance of the study, scope of the study, organization of the research and finally the definition of terms. This will bring clarity in relation to the topic of discuss.

1.1     Theoretical Background

Integrated system security through graphical password authentication is a large database system which can be used for managing an organization’s important files and systems graphical, after the various graphics available are been match together or authenticated by the user. The integrated system allows users to access almost all of their organizations information graphically, including information on employees, etc. integrated system security through graphical password is configurable and can run on hundreds or even thousands of systems at a time at any place. Generally speaking, it is a platform running on Local Area Network (LAN). [1]. However, if the organization’s integrated system is configured to be a public server with a static IP (Internet Protocol) or domain name it would have a boundary unlimited, wherever you are once you have an internet connection and graphical password system client installed, you can logon to the integrated system server easily just the same as if you were sitting in the organizations office. However, the speed provided up to both the client’s and server’s internet speed could make the organization staff’s life easier than ever. Using integrated system security through graphical password authentication security and access of information is just a few seconds away which might have cost hours or ever days before.

Integrated system security through graphical password authentication is the core foundation of any organization that needs to improve on their system security, to ensure the development of open-minded and effective organizational performance. Advanced technology available today can play a crucial role in streamlining system security-related processes to promote solidarity and integrity among organization.  Integrated system security consists of task such as graphics, and IP address or files on others system, which can be accessed after matching the series of graphics been provide by the system. [4]

Access to computer systems is most often based on the use of alphanumeric passwords. However, users have difficulty remembering a password that is long and random-appearing. Instead, they create short, simple, and insecure passwords. Graphical passwords have been designed to try to make passwords more memorable and easier for people to use and, therefore, more secure. Using a graphical password, users click on images rather than type alphanumeric characters.
