INFORMATIONS TECHNOLOGY AND SERVICES DELIVERY (A CASE STUDY OF TERTIARY HOSPITAL IN RIVERS STATE)

 

ABSTRACT

This study was intended to evaluate the relationship between information technology and service delivery in tertiary hospitals in Rivers state. This study was guided by the following objectives; to determine the level of use of information technology in the tertiary hospitals in Rivers State. to examine the relationship between information technology and service delivery in tertiary hospitals in Rivers State. To ascertain the factors limiting the use of information technology in tertiary hospitals in Rivers State. The study employed the descriptive and explanatory design; questionnaires in addition to library research were applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data was analyzed using the chi-square statistical tool at 5% level of significance which was presented in frequency tables and percentage. The respondents under the study were 25 employees of the university of port Harcourt teaching hospital; Rivers state. The study findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between information technology and service delivery in tertiary hospitals; based on the findings from the study, efforts should be made by the Nigerian government and stakeholders in improving information technology across all hospitals to improve service delivery.
