INFLUENCE ON COWBELL OF AKBC TELEVISION ADVERTISING ON CHILDREN IN ESSIEN UDIM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
This study was on the influence of AKBC Television Advertising of Cowbell Milk on children in Essien Udim Local Government Area. It was designed to examine the influence that television advertising messages have on children and to know how those messages influence them. The study was carried to examine the following. To find out if children are aware of milk television advertising messages, to find out why children consume advertise product, to make same recommendation. Cluster sampling technique was used and sample sizes of 384 children were drawn out of all the children in Essien Udim L.G.A estimated to be about five thousand. This strategy was used to find out certain opinion from the children with regards to influence of television advertising message among them, which were Afaha Clan District, Ukana west Clan District, Ukana East District, Ekpenyong-atai Clan District, Okon Clan District, and Adiasim District. Out of 500 but only 384 have been able to fill and return the questionnaire. From the data collected, it shows that advertising messages through their exposure to these messages. The data also shows that children buy product because of the tune, images and the drama been advertised on television, while some hold opinion that television advertising have not done anything to them. A survey study was used in carrying out the research. However, it was therefore suggested that television advertising messages should not only be made into influence the children, but should be used as a force to upgrade educational standard, child mind and moral behaviourial pattern of children in the society.
