INFLUENCE OF AKBC RADIO PROGRAMME “KNOW YOUR STATUS” ON AKWA IBOM STATE POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS, IKOT OSURUA

This study examined the influence of AKBC radio programme “Know your status” on students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. The objectives were to find out if the students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic prefer listening to AKBC Radio programme “know your status” among others. The sunley method was used in the study. The population of 141, 408 was used for the study, this comprise all the Resident of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic. However, a sample of 380 respondents was selected for the study. The study found out that the students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic are well exposed to the programme “know your status” of AKBC radio, and recommended that the contents of “know your status” programme should be taken to the rural areas in other to educate the youths to the dangers associated with this epidemic. Government should encourage the media with policies that will encourage them to develop more time to educating the youths on the HIV/AIDS. It was conducted that the AKBC radio has been in the fare front of the message with their “know your status” doing marvelously well in educating the youths on the dangers of this disease.
