IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE COMMUNICATION INDUSTRY IN NIGERIA
This research study was on the impact of technological development in the communication industry in Nigeria, using NTA channel 12, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State as a case study. The objective of the study was included to find out the extent to which NTA Uyo has adopted technology in their mass media practice. The methodology adopted to carry out the study was census sampling and the data was obtained from questionnaire forms administrated to the respondents and analyzed using descriptive statistics involving the use of simple percentage and frequency tables. Findings revealed that NTA Uyo has adopted technology in their mass media practice to a high extent. Also, the study shows that the influence of technological development in NTA, Uyo are; it makes mass media practice easier and enables reaching out to the mass audience. Useful recommendations were offered such as more finance and human resources should be invested in acquiring technological tools to promote reaching out the mass audience.
