EFFECT OF POLYGAMY ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF MUSLIM STUDENTS IN SELECTED SECONDARY SCHOOLS, SAKI WEST
ABSTRACT
The work examined the effect of polygamy on academic performance of students in secondary schools in Saki. Through the instrumentality of the questionnaire it was discovered that some of the children born out of the polygamy, were poor academically. This was informed by their parents lukewarm attitude to their academic development. Such children were not provided with quality and quantity food as well as necessary school materials.
Therefore, the study recommends that though Islam permits such a family system but parents should be responsible to their wards needs.
