ABSTRACT
This project is specially put together with the aim of
enlightening its users or giving an insight of the impact of computer on birth
registration system. It is believed that at the end of the work, its users would
be able to know the importance induced in registration of every newly born
child into the country, so as to enable the federal Republic of Nigeria to
statistically know the number of citizens that are in the nation.
In view of this, a careful study and
understanding of this research will assist users to know actually that through
this practice ( birth registration system) that Nations economy is evenly
spread and effectively utilized and the social planning for essential amenities
is distributed to every individual’s satisfaction.
This project will go further to
explain the sources through which data are collected for the act and also how
the exercise vested solely on the national population commission with the
planning of it’s staff in all health institution across the nation.
RECOMMENDATION
Recommendations on how best to
organize and bring better changes in order to improve the act of birth
registration in the nation. With the aid of a computerized system there will be
emphasis on the research so as to give birth registration a more sophisticated
approach at the end.

CHAPTER ONE
- INTRODUCTION
It is quite
obvious to note that the rate at which computer technology is changing the
world to a global village is actually affecting all levels of human endeavor,
it is also quite interesting that computer technology impact is really touching
all professions giving each a drastic change in terms of enhancing their
various services, increasing their productivity and further, making them to be
easy and cheap both in learning and implementing.
However, in
medicine field today, doctors are not bold and proud to attain to their
patients without stress assistance of an expert system, Expert system being a
software program, which had been already prepared by an experienced, and
qualified doctor, is specially designed for doctors who do not have much
experience an expert system, doctor can diagnosis store and retrieve
information about a patient as well as learn more on their profession
The study of
birth system is of immense importance to the nation, with the objective of
keeping track of the newly born babies serving as a monitor and regulatory
machine to check the mistakes associated in issuing birth certificate.
Assist the
national population commission the provision of numbers of new born babies that are born into the
country each day.
Furthermore,
the purpose of the study of this project will during census (counting of
citizens in a country). Also this project topic will help the nation to evenly
utilize its limited resources and also help in the planning for the economy
regarding the nation.
Consequently,
the initiative of computer into birth registrations system is certainly making
it a cheap and easy task for it beneficiaries reducing the stress of manual
work to machine work.
1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The factors that influence the course of development within an organization and its accomplishment is good to be embraced. The university of Nigeria Teaching hospital (UNTH) Enugu, till now can not keep tracks of its registries new born babies accurately due to lack of sophisticated machine for the purpose rather it uses the old system of manual work the negligence to give a valid report to parents and the National population commission.
Although the national population commission is being represented at the hospital by one of its staff to be manually taking records of events so as to date records of every newly born baby.
Thus, it’s necessary for the health institution to introduce a computer system that would be also used for the recording of event regarding birth.
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of the study is to design a machine that would put an end to all the problem encountered in this health institution while registering newly born babies. This machine should be an expert system.
