This volume comprises the papers presented at the conservation science meeting held in Glasgow in May, 1993. It gives a representative picture of the breadth, both in terms of subject and location of the research, of current British conservation research endeavours. It comprises 26 papers by experts from museums, galleries and universities. Some of these are overviews of various research interests of their institution, others present the results of one particular project. Topics covered include the conservation of stone, paintings and artifacts, the museum environment and materials testing.
