This project is a study of community bank as catalyst for rural development using ogui urban community bank as a case study. The research work brought to light the various ways through which the rural areas have been able to benefit and gain development through the existence of community banks. During the course of the research it was seen that the community banks of rural areas through increasing the credit position, mobilizing the savings of the rural dwellers and generally improving the banking habit of the people. The research was done using research methods that included; collection of data through questionnaires, oral interview, observations and secondary data. The research intends to be beneficial to research students, community banks, and industrialist. The economy and the public at large.
