COMMUNICATION OF TRADITIONAL MEDIA CHANNELS AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN IKPE COMMUNITY IN INI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

This study was carried out to determine extent which Traditional Media Channels assist in Conflict Resolution in Ikpe community in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. From the findings of the study, it was disccovered that Traditional MediaChannels are used to mobilized the people of Ikpe Community towards Conflict Resolution process and maintainance of peace and order inIkpe Community. From data collected and analyzed in the study, some problems were also identified ranging from time wasting to lack of money to finance Traditional Media Channels of Communication. For accurate data collection 50 out of 2000 people were sample as respondent using random sampling technique and data were analyzed, interpreted and presented using simp,le percentage and tables. From importance findings of the study, it was concluded that Traditional Media and Channels of Communication is of great importance not only to the rural dwellers, therefore, it essence should not be underestimated.
