A STUDY OF SELECT RADIO DRAMA PROGRAMMES ON BROADCASTING CORPORATION OF ABIA STATE

Using drama programme of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, the main thrust of this study was to examine drama as tool for the eradication of social vices in Abia State. Survey research design was used, and arriving at the sample size the yaro yamaehin was used to arrive at 400 respondents drawn from the seven towns in Umunneochi Local Government Area. The questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection. The questionnaire was subjected to validation by the superior. The reliability estimate of this instrument was established through the test- retest reliability method. Simple percentage statistical analysis technique was employ to answer research questions directing the study. The result of the analysis revealed that drama programmes serves as a tool for eradication of social vices in the society. Based on the findings, it was recommended that people should be encourage to listen to their radio drama programmes to enhance the eradication of social vices
